Interior tank condition

Maintenance Inspection

ScanTank's Maintenance Inspection System allows operators to inspect ISO tank container interiors from outside the manhole, reducing unnecessary confined-space entries while keeping every inspection on a consistent digital process. Each AI-based inspection returns a digital, interactive mapping chart of the tank container and a clear record that estimators can use to estimate maintenance work and plan follow-up.

Workflow

From scan to a digital interior record.

ScanTank combines inspection hardware, AI-supported scanning and interactive mapping into one repeatable workflow. The result is a digital interior record for on-the-spot assessment and maintenance follow-up.

1

Move

Move the module onto the manhole of the tank container. A hinge allows the unit to be moved and positioned on the tank's manhole.

2

Identify

The tank container number is automatically recognized using OCR, linking each scan to the correct unit.

3

Scan

Our robotized camera captures the tank container interior in high resolution, with AI analyzing the images as the scan runs. The operator is notified when the scan is ready.

4

Assess

After the scan, a digital, interactive mapping chart appears on the operator screen with severity indicators per defect category, enabling on-the-spot tank assessment.

5

Insights

In the web portal, each scan and its interactive mapping chart can be viewed. The mapping chart can also be exported as a PDF and used during maintenance to locate defects in the tank.

The tank interior, mapped interactively.

After each scan, an interactive mapping chart maps the tank interior, so every part of the stainless steel surface is viewable in one place. Pitting, discoloration, toolmarks and other surface defects appear with severity indicators per category on the operator screen and in the web portal.

AI Defect Detection

Trained on tank interior imagery, our AI defect detection model processes high-resolution scan footage as it is captured. It detects pitting corrosion, discoloration, toolmarks and other surface defects, classifying each finding by type and severity. Results are anchored to their position on the mapping chart, giving teams a repeatable, location-specific record rather than a subjective walkthrough note.

Condition Assessment with AI

Web Portal

The Maintenance Inspection System comes with a web portal where supervisors can review inspection images, AI-based condition findings and interactive mapping charts away from the inspection location. Review pitting, discoloration and toolmark findings, export the mapping chart as a PDF for use during maintenance work and estimates, and keep a structured record for follow-up and audit.

Inspection Module

ScanTank is built for maintenance yards and depot inspection lanes. A hinge-mounted module positions quickly on the manhole, so operators inspect from outside the tank rather than inside it. Easy to handle on site, the system fits into daily workflows while reducing unnecessary confined-space entry.
